The Animal Rescue Site Store

Animal Welfare Petitions

The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food for some of the eight million unwanted animals given to shelters in the U.S. every year. Over four million animals are put to death every year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.

Each click on the purple "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button at The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. Funding for food and care is paid by site sponsors and distributed to animals in need at The Fund for Animals' renowned animal sanctuaries (including Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch in Texas and The Fund for Animals Wildlife Center in Southern California), pet shelters supported by the Petfinder Foundation, North Shore Animal League, and other worthy animal care facilities supported by the GreaterGood.org foundation. 100% of sponsor advertising fees goes to our charitable partners.

Environment Petitions

Originally launched in May 2000, The Rainforest Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific ecological need — the preservation of the world's rainforests. Individuals from around the world visit the site each day to click the "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button and help rescue imperiled land. In just its first year of operation, The Rainforest Site generated funds to purchase and preserve over 5,650 acres of endangered land.

Land preservation, made possible by funds raised at The Rainforest Site, is paid for by site sponsors and carried out by The Nature Conservancy, The Rainforest Conservation Fund, The World Parks Endowment, and Rainforest2Reef. These organizations work to preserve rainforest land in Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Paraguay and other locations worldwide.

The Literacy Site Store

Education Petitions

The Literacy Site was founded to help promote literacy among children from low-income families nationwide. Partnering with First Book and Room to Read, the site makes books available to children around the world, giving many children their very first book. With the generous support of our sponsors, each click provides 1% of a book. Making books a part of a child's life is the best way to encourage the love of reading, and literacy is key in breaking the poverty cycle.

In addition to clicking the "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button, visitors can help make books available by shopping in The Literacy Site store. With each item purchased, shoppers generate funds for free books for children in need. The store offers a wide array of unique and meaningful items, including apparel, jewelry, home accents and gifts from around the world.

The Child Health Site Store

Child Health Petitions

Launched in October 2002, The Child Health Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — saving children's lives and improving the quality of their health. Over 200,000 children die every week from preventable causes, and many millions more suffer from preventable disease, curable blindness, landmines and other crippling accidents. To learn more about some of the health issues children face today, click here.

In less than five seconds, visitors to The Child Health Site can click on the "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button and, at no cost to them, save young lives and help children stay healthy. How? Each click — free to the visitor — generates funds paid by site sponsors. The majority of this funding goes to The Child Health Site's charity partners, who use the funds to:

  • distribute vitamin A, strengthening young immune systems and improving resistance to disease. Vitamin A supplementation also prevents as many as 400,000 cases of childhood blindness each year,
  • administer oral re-hydration formula to children with severe dehydration, a serious killer of children under five worldwide,
  • make a prosthesis (usually a foot or a leg) to enable child amputees to walk and lead active lives,
  • restore lost eyesight through simple surgeries that reverse blindness caused by cataracts and trachoma,
  • test pregnant mothers for HIV as a step toward preventing mother-to-child transmission of the AIDS virus.

Funding from the site helps an average of more than 1,000 children every day. A breakdown of the number of children helped each day is included on the Results — How You're Helping page. Together, we've helped more than half a million children in our first year alone!

The Child Health Site combines the intent of three former members of the GreaterGood Network. Launched by GreaterGood.com, Inc. in 2000 and 2001, The Child Survival Site, The Kids AIDS Site, and The Landmine Site addressed the issues now combined into this single site.

The Breast Cancer Site Store

Breast Cancer Petitions

The Breast Cancer Site was founded to help fund free mammograms for women in need — women for whom early detection would not otherwise be possible. Since its launch in October 2000, the site has established itself as a leader in online activism and in the fight to prevent breast cancer deaths.

The issue of breast cancer is painfully close to many people's hearts. Each year, 211,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and 43,300 die. Almost everyone knows someone whose life has been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis or that of a loved one. The Breast Cancer Site provides a feel-good way to help promote awareness and prevent breast cancer deaths every day — through easy online activities.

With a simple daily click of the pink button at The Breast Cancer Site, visitors help provide mammograms to those in need. Visitors pay nothing. Mammograms are paid for by the site's sponsors and distributed by the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

Access to mammography is a critical issue. Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women ages 40 - 55. Early detection is the key to survival and better treatment options, and mammography is among the best-known methods of early detection, yet 13 million women in the U.S. over 40 have never had a mammogram.

In addition to clicking the pink "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button, visitors can make early detection and survival of breast cancer possible by shopping in The Breast Cancer Site store. With each item purchased, shoppers generate funds for free mammograms for women in need. The store offers a wide array of items to show your support, including pink ribbon jewelry and apparel.

The Hunger Site Store

Hunger Petitions

The Hunger Site was founded to focus the power of the Internet on a specific humanitarian need; the eradication of world hunger. Since its launch in June 1999, the site has established itself as a leader in online activism, helping to feed the world's hungry and food insecure. On average, over 220,000 individuals from around the world visit the site each day to click the yellow "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button. Its grassroots popularity has been recognized with Web awards in the activism category — a Cool Site of the Year Award and a People's Voice winner at the Webby Awards. Since its inception, visitors at The Hunger Site and shoppers at The Hunger Site store have given more than 671 million cups of food.

The staple food funded by clicks at The Hunger Site is paid for by site sponsors and distributed to those in need by Mercy Corps, Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest), and Millennium Promise. 100% of sponsor advertising fees goes to our charitable partners. Funds are split between these organizations and go to the aid of hungry people in over 74 countries, including those in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and North America.
